Hopefully, we will not need to add any more rules to this list, but we reserve the right to do so when needed.
OOC
IC
OOC
- Don't be a jerk.
It is much more pleasant to deal with people when they're not being rude as hell and the like. Plus, that takes a bit of the fun out of it--so try to get along! If you encounter jerkish behavior, present evidence to the moderators, Salmonking and Falco, and they will mediate any conflicts that may arise. - Respect the staff.
We're here to make sure this is fun, and that everything runs smoothly. We also have lives outside of this forum, so if we're not super fast on getting to something, please be patient! - Be literate.
It's...really hard to understand you when you tlk lyk dis? Please don't. It'll make everybody's lives easier. - Be tolerant.
This one speaks for itself. You don't have to like what somebody is doing with their character, but don't freak out over it, please. - IC stays IC, OOC stays OOC.
Don't take things said ICly OOCly, or vice versa. The character's views on things are not necessarily the player's views, and it's a little ridiculous to get all up in arms over something a character says. - At most, you can have six characters.
This may include up to one (1) special character -- that is, a mutant, ghoul, Deathclaw, or otherwise exotic and outlandish creature. This may also include up to one (1) major companion character, such as Arcade or Boone. The upper limit on OCs -- original (non-canon) characters -- is four (4).
You are not obliged to play any particular type of character, and you are also not obliged to have six characters in total! Take as many characters as your discretion prompts; if you do decide to fill all your slots, please be sure you can keep up with them. Do not make another account so you can have another six slots, either. The Securitrons are watching.
This does not apply to temporary NPCs which appear incidentally in scenes. - Tag threads when finished.
This simply means that you'd need to edit the title to have something showing that it's over and done with. That way, we'll know what needs to be put in the Filing Cabinet to keep clutter down.
IC
- No godmoding.
Your character cannot kill a Deathclaw with their pinky, nor can they come back from the dead (unless they're a ghoul, I guess). This is just common sense--if it doesn't seem realistic for the setting, then it probably isn't. If you have a question as to whether or not something would be all right, feel free to ask. - Stick to the setting.
In the canon IC areas, please stay to the proper timeline and universe. It gets really confusing when somebody decides to go fly off in the Millennium Falcon and bomb Caesar's Legion with Wookies or something like that. - Keep it from going XXX-rated.
This is Proboards. If things get to smut, we will be removed from Proboards. So please, to save us from having to tear down shop and set it back up somewhere else, keep that sort of thing in private logs. - Do not control PCs without permission.
(PCs = player characters, as a note.)
This one is really quite simple. You don't get to control a character that is played by someone else--which means, you don't get to write your character as attacking Vault Dweller Sally's character and tearing off their nose to use as a hat. Or something.
Avoid killing PCs without their player's permission as well; people tend to have plans for their characters, and death is not always part of them.
